Young Naturalists’ Society

I am happy to be one of the minds behind the Young Naturalists' Society of the Pacific Northwest. Myself, along with Brandon Peecook, Carolyn Shores, Peter Conlin, and Jen Day, have re-initiated a century-plus old UW tradition! The Original Young Naturalists' Society founded what became the Burke Museum of Natural History, and some of these members are eternalized on the UW campus with buildings bearing their name (Trevor Kincaid, Orson Bennett Johnson).

Our society is aimed at getting people outside, to new places around Washington state, and reminding us that field observation is a valuable skill for any branch of biology. We go on monthly expeditions every month, preceded by a "show-and-tell" at the Burke Museum given by an expert of that month's field trip topic. Email me to find out more!
